Kelantan's 'kuih tiga beradik' top on the list of Ramadan desserts

KOTA BARU: Three Kelantanese desserts called 'kuih tiga beradik' continue to top the list of Malay desserts this Ramadan.

One trader selling the desserts was Mohamad Nurshah Amirin Abdul Razak, 30, who sold the kuih from a small stall at the Siti Khadijah wet market here.

Amirin said the three desserts - jala mas, buah tanjong and tahi itik - were named as 'kuih tiga beradik' because they were made from the same ingredient -- duck egg whites.

"I have been selling this traditional desserts since five years ago and it has been my family's business for many generations," he said.

The desserts were sold at RM5 per pack.

"Many buyers usually buy the desserts along with other dishes for breaking of fast.

"The three kuih are normally sold out within two to three hours of business," he said.
