BAGAN SERAI: States under Pas are doing well in terms of government administration and activism.
Perak Pas Youth deputy chief Mohd Hafez Sabri referred to the Statistics Department's data, stating that Kedah and Terengganu were among the top five states which recorded the highest economic growth in Malaysia, last year.
Mohd Hafez said Kelantan, on the other hand, was a state that had been ruled by Pas for 30 years and continued to develop despite being tested by various challenges and obstacles.
"At the federal level, Pas holds three portfolios which are the minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs); the Water and Environment Ministry minister and the Energy and Natural Resources minister," he said.
Mohd Hafez said this in his opening speech at the 39th Pas Youth Muktamar at Bukit Merah Laketown Resort here, today.
Present was Pas vice-president, Datuk Idris Ahmad, who is also the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) minister.
Mohd Hafez said the excellent governance ability and high integrity shown by the party in the states it governed as well as in the ministries had given a positive signal to the people in Malaysia.
"We have proven that the governance achievements shown are a reflection of the Islamic values brought by Pas.
"This situation can only be implemented by a state or country that has leaders and management who have integrity and are fair to all," he said.
He said Pas youth would always emphasise on political maturity, prioritising integrity and rendering excellent service to the people.
Mohd Hafez said the Kelantan state government's slogan - "Membangun Bersama Islam (Developing with Islam)"; Terengganu's "Terengganu Maju, Berkat Dan Sejahtera (Progressive, Blessed and Prosperous Terengganu); Kedah's "Kedah Sejahtera Nikmat Untuk Semua (Prosperous Kedah, a Boon for All) prove the success of the party in leading these three states.
He added that Pas had become part of the federal government which played a pivotal role in highlighting various Islamic solutions, including integrity practice and saying no to power abuse for the benefit of the people as a whole.
