Sri Aman records unhealthy API

KUALA LUMPUR: Sri Aman in Sarawak saw a drastic increase in its air pollutant index (API) reading as it recorded unhealthy air due to haze this morning.

The Sri Aman District administrative centre registered an API of 105 at 1am.

It gradually increased over the hours, increasing to 121 at 3am; at 4am it was 131; at 5am it was 142; and at 7am it was 152.

Its latest reading at 9am saw this figure increase to 153 said the Department of Environment website.

The rest of Sabah, Sarawak and the Peninsula saw the API registering between good and moderate as of 9am.
