ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor DAP chairman and Johor Pakatan Harapan (PH) deputy chairman Liew Chin Tong has emerged victorious for the parliamentary constituency for Iskandar Puteri in the GE15 and he did so with a majority of 29,958 votes.
Liew polled 96,819 votes to defeat Barisan Nasional's (BN) Datuk Jason Teoh who received 36,783 votes while Perikatan Nasional's (PN) Jashen Tan received 30,078 votes.
Liew, who is also the state legislative representative for Perling, expressed gratitude to all the voters who ensured his victory.
He opined that his win was not just the result of vigorous campaigning for two weeks but also on the people's undivided belief and confidence.
"My responsibility expands this time around as I will serve the people of Iskandar Puteri and Perling (state legislative assembly) but I am confident that I will be able to do my best in representing the people.
"What is important is that we serve the people as best as possible and I will do so for matters and issues that are close to the people's heart," said Liew.
