KUALA LUMPUR: The Yang di-Pertuan Agong will have an audience with 30 Barisan Nasional (BN) members of parliament at Istana Negara tomorrow.
In a statement, Comptroller of the Royal Household Datuk Seri Ahmad Fadil Shamsuddin said the king will meet the 30 MPs individually starting 10.30am.
"Following an audience that was granted to the heads of Pakatan Harapan (PH) and Perikatan Nasional (PN) at 4.30pm at Istana Negara today, the next process is an audience with 30 Dewan Rakyat members from BN.
"The individual session will start at 10.30am tomorrow at Istana Negara.
"This process is to ensure that His Majesty will be able to make a decision to appoint a member of the Dewan Rakyat, who in his opinion has the majority confidence of Dewan Rakyat members, to be prime minister as stipulated under Article 43(2)(a) of the Federal Constitution."
Fadil said the king had called on the public to be patient and calm until the process of forming a new government and the appointment of the 10th prime minister is concluded.
"His Majesty also called on the rakyat to pray for a smooth process and for the people to always be blessed and protected from any form of calamity and harm."
Earlier, PH chairman Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and PN chairman Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had an audience with the monarch at 4.30pm.
According to Anwar, there is still no prime minister and the King had expressed his desire to see a formation of strong government that is inclusive in terms of race, religion and region.
