KUALA LUMPUR: Pas president Tan Sri Abdul Hadi Awang is ready to cooperate with the police over the 'Israeli agent' claim against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"I am open and ready to be investigated. However, so far I have yet to receive any call from Bukit Aman (the Federal police headquarters).
"So, should be nothing (tak ada lah tu)," he told a press conference yesterday, in which the clip was shared on his Facebook.
Hadi was responding to a question on whether the police had contacted him regarding the claim.
Hadi added that earlier, he was called to Bukit Aman for few times, hence it would not be a problem for him if he eas called again by the police.
Hadi, however, said he never said that Anwar was an Israeli agent, as claimed.
"Who said that? I had never said that, but it is up to him.
"Bukit Aman is aware of that I did not say that.
"They (the police) recorded my ceramah and they read my media statement.
"I did not say that, so it is up to him."
Yesterday, the Federal police secretary Datuk Noorsiah Mohd Saaduddin said the police have launched an investigation against Hadi for accusing the prime minister of being an Israeli agent.
She said police are investigating Hadi after they received reports on the accusation he allegedly levelled against the premier.
However, hours after police retracted the statement to clarify that they were investigating Baling member of parliament Hassan Saad instead.
Earlier, PKR Putrajaya Youth division lodged a police report and urged the police to investigate allegations portraying its party president as an Israeli agent.
Its chief, Syazreen Ezam Saidi, said the allegations were not only baseless but also touched on racial and religious sentiments.
The allegations had been circulating since Anwar's appointment as prime minister on Nov 24.
