Norhisham Saifudin was found in a weak condition with cuts caused by shrubs all over his body, about 10am.

Rescuers found the 18-year old naked, and in a frightened state while hugging a tree.

His aunty, Rosliza Ghani @ Hassan, 32, said Norhisham was later sent to Hospital Sultan Ismail Petra here for treatment.

She said Norhisham seemed to be in a shock and could not remember what had happened to him over the past four days.

"He kept asking us what had happened to him and why he was in the jungle.

"However, he recalled seeing people looking for him. My nephew said he tried calling out for help but the rescuers did not seem to hear him.

"He said he could even hear his mother calling out his name but he could not seem to respond," she said.

It was reported that the teenager had gone off into the jungle on Tuesday, prompting villagers and his family to search for him when he failed to return home.

Some 42 firemen, police and Civil Defence Force and Rela apart from police K9 unit, were involved in the search.

Rosliza said the family had never given up hope to locate her nephew and they were just glad that he had been found.

Meanwhile, Kuala Krai Fire Department chief Nik Ahmad Afsham Nik Pa said the teenager was found just 200 meters from the last place he was seen.
