Ismail Sabri thanks PM for continuing initiatives of previous administration

KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has expressed his thanks to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim for continuing the initiatives of the previous administration via the 2023 Mini Budget and the Consolidated Fund (Expenditure on Account) Bill 2022, which were approved in the Dewan Rakyat today.

Ismail Sabri, who is the former prime minister, said the initiative forms part of his Keluarga Malaysia administration's budget aspirations tabled on Oct 7, which had focused on the people's well-being and economic prosperity.

"It also took into account all aspects, specifically caring for the B40 segment as well as preparation for the expected economic uncertainty next year," he said in a statement today.

Among the initiatives announced by the prime minister today included aid for schoolchildren to prepare them for the coming school term, cash aid for the people, aid for the monsoon season, the 2023 Special Annual Increment (KGT), special financial aid for civil servants as well as readying 50,000 job opportunities.

Ismail Sabri said the previous administration had also decided against raising the electricity tariff for the peninsular, and had provided RM1.2 billion to breeders to prevent a rise in chicken and egg prices.

"Once again, I thank the prime minister for continuing the aspirations of the previous government and hope that the welfare of the people will continue to be cared for," he said.
