KOTA KINABALU: Sabah government will have a special sitting on Jan 10 to discuss the transfer of full regulatory control of gas supply to the state.
State Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor said Sabah has to thank Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and the unity government, which had agreed to give the state full regulatory control of gas supply.
"These are the rights that we have been fighting for as enshrined in the Malaysia Agreement 1963.
"The unity government helmed by the Prime Minister showed its readiness to grant the rights to Sabah and Sarawak.
"These (are matters) that have been fought by Sabah leaders including Datuk Seri Dr Maximus Ongkili when he was a minister in the federal," he told reporters at Parti Bersatu Sabah's (PBS) Christmas open house at Hakka Hall here.
Hajiji added that the open house hosted by Ongkili, who is the PBS president, was special and able to strengthen relationship among the people from various backgrounds.
Hajiji also attended Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives Ministry's Christmas celebration at Penampang Cultural Centre hosted by its minister Datuk Ewon Benedick.
