National Unity Week celebration set to commence in May

KUALA LUMPUR: The National Unity Week celebration will commence at the end of May in Kuching and will involve all states in a week-long grand celebration, said National Unity Minister Datuk Aaron Ago Dagang.

"We will have tours to Sabah, Johor, and Penang, and all states will hold programmes on National Unity Week," he said during a press conference at the launch of the Unity Gallery Programme at Aeon Alpha Angle today.

He said the celebration will feature various events such as the Unity Gallery Programme, which will be implemented through the three main clusters of Splendour of Nationhood, Rahmah Community Programme, and Splendour of Unity.

The Unity Gallery Programme aims to enhance the spirit of unity through fun activities that showcase the uniqueness of the various customs, cultures, and races.

The three-day programme will also include a Moment of Unity exhibition, cultural performances by various ethnic groups, and the Rumah Kami exhibition by various agencies under the ministry.

Aaron added that the ministry welcomes the participation of public and private agencies as well as non-governmental organisations in such activities in the future through strategic collaboration.

The celebration of National Unity Week is an excellent opportunity for all Malaysians to come together and celebrate the nation's diversity while promoting unity and harmony. -- BERNAMA
