99 Speed Mart kicks off Raya Rahmah sale

KUALA LUMPUR: Raya biscuits and mini instant "ketupat" are among the 150 items being sold 40 per cent cheaper at 99 Speed Mart.

The month-long Hari Raya Rahmah Sales was launched by Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Seri Salahuddin Ayub today.

Salahuddin said the additional discounts offered by 99 Speed Mart were affordable to all Malaysians.

"The sale ends on April 22 so people can still shop for their Hari Raya Aidilfitri needs on the eve of the celebration," he said at 99 Speed Mart's Bukit Jalil branch.

The 150 food items such as rice, canned milk, cordial, butter and detergent are sold at 2,300 branches of 99 Speed Mart nationwide under the Payung Rahmah initiative.

Also present were ministry secretary-general Datuk Azman Muhd Yusof, enforcement director Datuk Azman Adam, Kuala Lumpur ministry director Ariffin Samsudin and 99 Speed Mart director of branches operation Yong Eng Kwang.

Salahuddin said the ministry was committed to ensuring the people were not burdened with the rising cost of living, challenges and uncertainties.

Meanwhile, Yong said their effort showed that private and government partnerships were not impossible for the sake of assisting the underprivileged.

"Our Rahmah Sales will not stop here and we are committed to continuity in the future.

"99 Speed Mart will always support the government's efforts because we know all of their programmes will benefit the people in need.

"We want to continue our cooperation with the ministry for the good of the people," he added.
