'I dont get what Sanusi is trying to imply,' Fahmi says over MB's claims of being barred from federal govt events

PADANG TERAP: Communications and Digital Minister Fahmi Fadzil has been left perplexed by claims made by Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor.

Sanusi, in a Facebook posting, had claimed that he was being barred from federal government programmes in his own state.

Neither confirming or denying the claims, Fahmi said there was no issue with Sanusi.

"In all my events, these are official work visits by the Communications and Digital Ministry to Kedah and we invited everyone, including members of parliament and state assemblymen.

"I dont get what he (Sanusi) is trying to imply. To me what important is for us to prove that the unity government is willing to work together for the people and I think there is enough politicking... lets work for the people," he said.

When pressed to confirm whether there was such a decision by the cabinet, Fahmi declined to respond and instead replied the reporter had "asked too many questions today".

Sanusi, in his posting, had claimed that Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's cabinet had decided to bar him from all federal government functions, including the Langkawi International Maritime and Aerospace (Lima) 2023 exhibition in May.

"PMX's (10th prime minister's) cabinet new decision — Barring MB Kedah in any federal gov occasions including Lima in Langkawi... what to do? If you panaih, please don't koyakk...," Sanusi's posting read.
