Mogok Doktor Malaysia: Do not threaten contract doctors who want to join tomorrow's strike

KUALA LUMPUR: Mogok Doktor Malaysia warns any party including senior medical officers against threatening contract doctors who want to join the three-day strike starting tomorrow.

Through their Instagram, the contract doctor movement revealed that there were senior doctors pressuring contract doctors to not participate in the strike demanding permanent appointment rights.

"We will file a police report against any doctor involved in making threats like this.

"Please send the name to the admin (management) with screenshot proof (screen capture). We will ensure that the medical experts involved are punished appropriately," he said.

Through the same post, a screenshot of a message allegedly from a medical expert was also uploaded. The message forbade sick or emergency leave and warned that the head of department would take action against those taking part in the strike.

The media previously reported that the contract doctors planning the strike did not budge from their decision to follow through with the action.

Mogok Doktor Malaysia on Instagram claimed that between 10,000 to 12,000 health workers would join the strike.

The group's spokesperson known as Dr Jamal said they will be off duty for three days, taking sick leave or emergency leave.
