HULU SELANGOR: A fishing trip ended in tragedy after a man drowned at the Tasik Kiambang mining pool, Serendah, here.
The 26-year-old victim's body was found by his father at the scene of the incident.
Hulu Selangor district police chief Superintendent Ahmad Faizal Tahrim said they were alerted of the incident at 2.47pm.
"The victim was already dead when police arrived at the scene," he said in a statement today.
Ahmad Faizal said that the victim's body was then taken to Hospital Kuala Kubu Baru for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.The case has been classified as sudden death.
Meanwhile, the Selangor Fire and Rescue Services Department director Morni Mamat said a team of eight firemen from the Kuala Kubu Baru fire station rushed over to the scene after receiving a distress call.
He said that according to initial findings, the victim was found floating by the edge of Tasik Kiambang.
