KUALA LUMPUR: The leadership of Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah, who was hailed as a hero of the Health Ministry (MoH), especially when the country was faced with battling the covid-19 pandemic, will continue to be an inspiration to all health workers in this country.
In a video uploaded on YouTube by MoH's Medical Programme entitled 'The Legend Has Retired - Retirement of Tan Sri Dato' Seri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah', many described the services and sacrifices of the Health director-general who will be going on mandatory retirement this Fri (Apr 21) after serving the ministry for 35 years, as extraordinary.
MoH Medical Development Division director, Dr Mohd Azman Yacob, said Dr Noor Hisham's leadership and dedication in improving the dignity of the country's health sector will always be respected by the ministry's staff.
"We will continue Tan Sri's legacy, and all of your guidance will be an aspiration and inspiration for all of us to continue moving forward," he said.
MoH Medical Development Division senior principal assistant director, Dr Jafanita Jamaludin, described Dr Noor Hisham as a leader of calibre who is always dedicated to his work.
Meanwhile, Matron Kartina Mohammad Manan from MoH's Nursing Division, described Dr Noor Hisham as a leader who not only has extensive knowledge but is also approachable.
"He is sharp in making decisions, always on track and understands any issues faced by the ministry very well," he said.
MoH's Medical Development Division deputy director, Dr Hirman Ismail, who is also a former special officer to Dr Noor Hisham, said the medical figure was always emphasising the reform of health institutions.
"Many of his programmes steered us in that direction, including the development of the Casemix system (a method of classifying patient treatment episodes into disease groups), in addition to conducting research with Harvard Medical School and a desire to make hospitals more ibadah-friendly," he said.
In the meantime, Health deputy director-general (Medical), Datuk Dr Asmayani Khalib, on behalf of the entire health service, thanked Dr Noor Hisham for his contributions to the country's health sector.
"Enjoy your retirement with your family. May your retirement be filled with nothing but happiness, and may you be blessed with good health, we will never forget Tan Sri's kindness," she said. – BERNAMA
