It turned out that the couple was trying to visit their children and grandchildren in Rancakalong.
"We miss our grandchildren so much so we decided to visit them during the Aidilfitri celebration, although we don't have enough money," the grandmother told the police.
The police personnel, moved by the couple's determination, asked them to rest first and then gave them cash for their travel expenses.
The grandmother expressed her gratitude after receiving the money.
The police then escorted them to the public transportation stop.
The video has evoked myriad of feelings among netizens.
"Ya Allah (Dear God), I cried watching this video. The pain and longing of the parents for their children is almost too much to bear," said a netizen.
Other netizens were also relieved and happy that the police had helped the couple by providing them with the necessary travel expenses to reunite with their loved ones.
