KUALA LUMPUR: Thousands of jobseekers turned up at Tesla Malaysia's walk-in recruitment day today for a handful of jobs at the multinational automotive and energy company led by billionaire Elon Musk.
It is understood that the interview session, which ran from noon until 4pm, was held at the Cyberview Sdn Bhd office in Persiaran Apec, Cyberjaya.
Among the various positions on offer included sales advisor/inside sales advisor, enterprise sales advisor, delivery advisor, customer support specialist and service advisor.
Tesla Malaysia is currently ramping up it operations in Malaysia. In March, it was reported that Electric vehicle (EV) maker Tesla Inc, which is run by Musk, will open a head office here and establish a network of charging stations for its cars.
The Investment, Trade and Industry Ministry also said that Tesla's application to import battery-run EVs (BEVs) into the country had been approved.
Tesla's presence in Malaysia was expected to create skilled and better-paying job opportunities for workers in the BEV segment and increase the participation of local companies in the Tesla ecosystem, both domestically and globally, the ministry had said.
