Hajiji hands over 344 land grants to residents from 34 villages

KINABATANGAN: The Sabah government today handed over 344 native land grants to residents from 34 villages in Sukau near here.

During the Gagasan Rakyat Sabah gathering at the Sukau Town Square here, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor presented the land grants covering a total area of 722.5 hectares to the people.

Among the villages involved were Kampung Sukau with 26 land grants, Kampung Sungai Teneggang (49 land grants), Kampung Bukit Garam (24 land grants), Kampung Sungai Takala (22 land grants), Kampung Usaha Jaya (51 land grants), and Kampung Sinar Jaya (30 land grants).

"Out of the 344 land grants, 141 were granted through the Native Land Services Programme (Pantas) and 203 grants were processed through regular land applications," read a statement from the Chief Minister's Department.

Meanwhile, Hajiji also handed over the Native Residential Reserve Land Gazette for Kampung Litang, Sukau, covering an area of 82.3 hectares.

He added there are approximately 8,000 land grants available, and he or other government representatives would personally deliver them to the people during their visits to various districts.
