Kedah PH-BN leaders launch Greater Alor Star Aspiration as state election manifesto.

ALOR STAR: Kedah Pakatan Harapan-Barisan Nasional leaders contesting in the city's state seats have announced the Greater Alor Star Aspiration as part of their state election manifesto.

Kedah DAP chairman Tan Kok Yew said that the Greater Alor Star Aspiration framework plans to raise Alor Setar as a focal point of stable governance and sustainable development for the state.

Kok Yew, who is also PH's candidate for the Derga state seat, pointed out Kedah's phenomenal potential to become a world-class economy, given its strategic location near Penang and Thailand, along with its abundance of natural resources unmatched by other states.

"Alor Star as the state's capital should not only be a political center but also a hub for driving the state's economy, art, culture, history, and craftsmanship.

"Moreover, the area should serve as an incubator for academic and vocational talents and a catalyst for technology advancement in various fields, from agriculture to renewable energy," he told reporters after launching the Greater Alor Star Aspiration development blueprint at PH's Derga operations room here today.

Also present was former Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah, PH Suka Menanti state seat candidate, Datuk Zamri Yusuf, BN's candidate for Bukit Lada, Datuk Said Ali Syed Rastan and PH candidate for Kota Darul Aman, Teh Swee Leong.

Commenting further, Kok Yew added that the three main frameworks of the Greater Alor Setar Aspiration include popularising the tourism industry and rebranding social and cultural elements; progressive economic development and management; and improving urban quality of life.

Meanwhile, Bashah expressed hopes that BN and PH under the Unity Government would bring about positive change in Kedah if the people choose their alliance to take over the state on August 12.

"This is the reality we embrace now and we see a promising future ahead and are committed to securing victory. Together as a unity family representing various communities, we will strive for harmony and progress," he added.

He also assured the people that PH-BN's promises in the manifesto will cover all aspects of development, housing and more to enhance the people's quality of life in Kedah.
