KUALA LUMPUR: Putrajaya is still in the midst of discussing the proposal for the high speed rail line between Malaysia and Singapore.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said Transport Minister Anthony Loke would liaise with his Singaporean counterpart once initial decisions were finalised.
"It is still being deliberated at our level. As soon as there is an initial decision on it, Loke will bring it up to Singapore's attention," he said after launching the 2023 Malaysia Commercialisation Year here, today.
Yesterday, acting Singapore Transport Minister Chee Hong Tat told Parliament that they had not received any new proposal from Malaysia.
He was quoted as saying that Singapore was willing to discuss any new proposal for a Kuala Lumpur-Singapore HSR from Malaysia in good faith, starting from a clean slate.
Last month, MyHSR Corp Sdn Bhd chairman Datuk Seri Fauzi Abdul Rahman said the multi-billion ringgit Kuala Lumpur-Singapore which was terminated in January 2021 had been revived.
