Japen bags two awards at 4th Asean Public Relations Excellence Awards 2023

KUALA LUMPUR: The Malaysian Information Department (Japen) has received two public relations excellence awards at the Asean level.

It received the Best Crisis Management and Best Government PR categories at the 4th Asean Public Relations Excellence Awards 2023, jointly-organised by the Asean PR Network (APRN) and IPRM held in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam on Sept 8.

For the nomination of these two categories, Japen had submitted a special report related to Japen's role as the agency responsible for media management during the tragedy of the landslide disaster in Batang Kali, Selangor on Dec 16, 2022.

The excellence award is held to benchmark the PR industry and practice standards. This initiative serves as a distinctive badge to recognise and celebrate achievements in Public Relations practices.

The awards were handed over by former-president of Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) president Datuk Seri Ibrahim Abdul Rahman to Japen director-general Datuk Sukari Hamid in Putrajaya, today.
