Abdul Wahab approached by two unidentified groups, says lawyer

KUALA LUMPUR: Abdul Wahab Abdul Kadir Jilani, involved in the controversial viral video with his former director-general, says he is 'concerned for his safety' after being approached by two groups.

His lawyer, Faizal Rahman, responding to Inspector General of Police, Tan Sri Razarudin Husain's request to assist with police investigations, said his client said he was afraid after being 'hunted' by two groups of individuals at his home.

"One group claims to be plainclothes police officers, but they refused to show identification cards. The other group claims to be from a political party. Both groups were suspicious," he told New Straits Times.

Faizal also said that Abdul Wahab's family is under a lot of pressure due to the threats that the latter had received.

He said that, until now, the true identities of those looking for his client are unknown.

Previously, a video clip depicting explicit conversations involving a man resembling the former director-general of J-KOM, Datuk Dr Mohammad Agus Yusoff, and Abdul Wahab surfaced.

The police are investigating the video, which Agus and Abdul Wahab claim was manipulated.

Agus said that he had already revealed the identity of the person behind the video, referred to as "Mr. H," to the police.

He also filed a police report regarding a video clip by blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin that disclosed the initial police report and his personal information.

Faizal also mentioned that Abdul Wahab would not file a report regarding the group approaching him while waiting for the police investigation into "Mr. H" and Agus's second report concerning the leakage of his original report.

Earlier today, it was reported that the police have summoned "Mr H" to take his statement at Putrajaya police headquarters at 5pm today.
