KUALA LUMPUR: Media Prima Bhd (MPB) celebrated Chinese New Year with a lion dance performance at Balai Berita, Bangsar, here today.
MPB group managing director Rafiq Razali said the year of the dragon is expected to be challenging despite the good fortune that the mythical creature is supposed to bring. However, he is optimistic that the company is able to perform well.
"In reality, this year is going to be a very challenging year. However, I'm confident because of all of your (staff members) efforts, we will still achieve our goals this year.
"So, thank you very much to everyone who worked very hard and we appreciate a lot of the efforts. Gong Xi Fa Cai," he said after a Yee Sang tossing session.
Present were MPB group chief financial officer Rosli Sabarudin, New Straits Times group editor Farrah Naz Karim and Berita Harian deputy group editor M. Thillinadan.
The lion dance was performed by the Subang Hong Teck Association comprising 10 members.
Firecrackers were also lit at the driveway as staff members from various departments came to celebrate the occasion clad in red outfits.
The lion dance troupe is also expected to perform at Sri Pentas, Petaling Jaya, at 3pm and Glenmarie Shah Alam at 5pm.
