KUALA LUMPUR: While many convey their Aidilfitri greetings via WhatsApp or social media, His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia continues the tradition of sending physical greeting cards.
According to a post on His Majesty's official Facebook page, Sultan Ibrahim signed 200 Raya greeting cards yesterday.
"His Majesty enjoys sending Raya greeting cards traditionally as it strengthens the bond between the palace and the people, regardless of religion and ethnicity.
"(Physical) greeting cards are not only unique and special but also very classic," according to the post.
The Facebook page also posted photos of the King breaking fast with the police personnel at the police training centre here yesterday.
Also present was Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia.
They were greeted upon arrival by Home Minister Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain and Attorney-General Datuk Ahmad Terrirudin Mohd Salleh.
Deputy Home Minister Datuk Seri Shamsul Anuar Nasarah, Home Ministry secretary-general, Datuk Ruji Ubi and Deputy IGP Datuk Seri Ayob Khan Mydin Pitchay were also present. -- Berna
