PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said he will not be organising any Hari Raya Aidilfitri events at Seri Perdana this year.
"Instead, I will follow and attend events at the states organised by the ministers," he said in his speech at the Finance Ministry's monthly assembly today.
Anwar, who is also finance minister also reminded government agencies to be prudent and organise moderate Raya celebrations.
He said they must be wise in spending public funds, especially for festivities and celebrations.
"Please don't compete on who (organises) bigger and grander event.
"That's not even your money."
Anwar has done away with the practise of hosting an open house on the first day of Aidilfitri at the Seri Perdana complex since he took office.
Instead, he attends functions organised by agencies in different states.
