KUALA LUMPUR: Wisma Putra is warning Malaysians in Middle East of potential flight cancellations due to tensions between Iran and Israel and the closing of airspace.
In a brief statement today, it said several countries, including Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq, have closed their airspace in the Middle East.
"Malaysians in the area should anticipate potential disruptions to flight schedules and are advised to adjust their travel plans accordingly.
" In case of an emergency or if assistance is needed while abroad, please contact the nearest Malaysian embassy or consulate in Teheran in Iran, Amman in Jordan, Beirut in Lebanon and in Baghdad."
Wisma Putra said the safety of Malaysians residing in these four countries would remain a priority and in any case of an emergency, they were to contact the respective embassies in the area.
It also advised Malaysians affected to keep themselves updated with the latest announcements and to follow instructions from local authorities at all times.
