KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian students in the Middle East can be reassured of their safety, even amidst the presence of drones and bombs in the sky resulting from the conflicts between Israel and Iran.
The Foreign Ministry, in a statement yesterday, announced that Iran's drone and missile assault on Israel had come to an end, allowing Malaysians there to breathe a sigh of relief and return to their usual daily routines.
The ministry stated that they have been monitoring the situations in the Middle East following the tension between Iran and Israel on April 14th. A Malaysian student from Jordan, Amal, using her X account @amalamnani, reported that she had seen lights and heard bombs near her residence during the attack.
"Ya Allah, if anything happens to me, I accept it Ya Allah. I'm totally scared, and I just want to return to my country. The sound of the bombs is very loud! We saw drones crossing Jordan to reach Israel. Many students here recorded drones in the sky, even above their own residences. Allahuakbar. Please pray for us," she added.
A student at Mu'tah University in Jordan named Mohammed Syahmiel Izzuwa claimed that as a result of the incident, fires also started in a number of different locations.
He was also able to record the intense moment and posted it on his TikTok account, @_syhmiel. Malaysian students are advised to return home promptly after lectures and avoid spending unnecessary time outdoors.
