KUALA LUMPUR: Strong winds and heavy rains this afternoon led to seven vehicles being damaged when a tree fell near Plaza PK in Taman Kinrara, Puchong.
Selangor Fire and Rescue Department assistant director (operations) Ahmad Mukhlis Mukhtar said the department received a call regarding the incident at 4.24pm.
Following that, he said, a team of personnel along with a fire rescue tender (FRT) and an emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) vehicle from the Puchong fire station was despatched to the location for rescue work and to remove the tree.
The operation was led by Mohd Azri Kamil Maarof.
"There were no casualties in the incident, and at present, firemen at the scene are working to remove the tree," he said in a statement.
Earlier, several images and video recordings depicting heavy rain and winds along with the fallen trees went viral on social media.
