Most of 27 summonses for Genting bus crash driver are for not having a valid driver's licence

BENTONG: Most of the 27 summonses issued to the driver of the tour bus that crashed on the way down from Genting Highlands yesterday are for not having a valid driver's licence.

Bentong police chief Superintendent Zaiham Mohd Kahar today said the bus driver, 32, was also issued summonses for beating a red light, being involved in an accident, and driving without a valid road tax.

Meanwhile, Zaiham said the company operator would be called in have his statement recorded.

Two Chinese nationals were killed, and several others were injured when the tour bus landed on its side while travelling downhill at Km16.5 of Jalan Genting-Bentong yesterday.

The two male victims, who died on the spot, were believed to have been trapped in their seats in the 10.40am accident.

The driver has been remanded for four days.
