Family seeks help in locating 'Makndak'

GEORGETOWN: Missing for nearly a month, the family of senior citizen Rohani Babu is seeking the public's help to locate her.

Rohani, 63, also known as 'Makndak', was last seen at her home on Jalan Paya Terubong, Ayer Itam, here, on June 9.

Her cousin, Shamsiah Ibrahim, 39, said Rohani, who has one child, lives alone in a house next to hers.

Shamsiah said Rohani was discovered missing at midnight when they found her house door open and the interior in disarray.

"She is believed to have left the house without taking any identification documents.

"Since then, the search for Rohani has been ongoing, with two police reports already filed" she said when contacted today.

Shamsiah said that besides seeking assistance from Islamic medical practitioners, her family has also printed and posted missing person posters in public areas.

She also claimed that Rohani has health issues, sometimes experiences memory loss, and suffers from seizures and unclear speech.

"Checks at the hospital have also been made, but there are no records of her name, and we are now continuing the search in several public locations around Seberang Perai.

"Previously, Rohani had gone missing twice but was found because she carried her identification card with her," she added.

Those with information on Rohani can contact Shamsiah at 011-6486 6763 or the nearest police station.
