Istana Negara unveil King and Queen's official portraits ahead of installation

KUALA LUMPUR: Istana Negara has unveiled the King and Queen's official portraits ahead of Sultan Ibrahim, King of Malaysia's installation on July 20.

The portraits of His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim and Her Majesty Raja Zarith Sofiah, Queen of Malaysia, were shared on Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar's Facebook page.

Sultan Ibrahim's installation is set to be a very special moment for His Majesty as he will go through a similar process that his father the late Sultan Iskandar Sultan Ismail went through 40 years ago.

Then, Sultan Iskandar was installed as the country's eighth Yang di-Pertuan Agong.

Previously, Istana Negara Grand Chamberlain Datuk Azuan Effendy Zairakithnaini said the installation ceremony would be steeped in tradition and see Sultan Ibrahim sit on the same throne used by his father.

His Majesty Sultan Ibrahim took the oath of office as the 17th King of Malaysia on Jan 31.
