KUALA LUMPUR: Former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad has been discharged from the National Heart Institute (IJN) after a two-week stay for treatment of a cough.
His aide, Sufi Yusoff, who confirmed the matter with Bloomberg, said the 99-year-old's health has improved and is now allowed to 'rest at home'.
Dr Mahathir was admitted to IJN on July 15, five days after celebrating his 99th birthday.
His last treatment at IJN was in January for an infection, from which he was discharged in March.
