Malaysians in Japan told to exercise caution in the face of Ampil typhoon

KUALA LUMPUR: The Foreign Affairs Ministry, through the Malaysian embassy in Tokyo, urged Malaysians in Tokyo to exercise caution and remain vigilant as the Ampil typhoon approaches.

The typhoon is reported to be strengthening as it nears the Kanto region and the surrounding areas.

The ministry also calls on Malaysians in Tokyo who have yet to registered their whereabouts to do so immediately at https://ekonsular.kln.gov.my to receive timely updates and support.

The embassy advised those in the Izu Islands, Kanto and Tohoku regions to stay alert, especially during the potential strong winds, high waves, landslides, torrential rain, or flooding expected from today to tomorrow.

The ministry will provide further updates as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of all Malaysians in the affected areas.
