KUALA LUMPUR: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia is confident party president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will respect the law and give his statement to the authorities tomorrow.
Bersatu secretary-general Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin said the party leadership was examining in detail the remarks Muhyiddin made during the Nenggiri state seat by-election campaign.
Hamzah, who is also Larut member of parliament, asked all parties to remain calm and pray for a good resolution to the issue.
Earlier today, police postponed the session to record Muhyiddin's statement due to the unavailability of his lawyer.
Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain said the session would be held tomorrow at 11am at the same location.
It was reported that police had received 30 reports against Muhyiddin, involving investigations under Section 4(1) of the Sedition Act, Section 233 of the Communications and Multimedia Act and Section 504 of the Penal Code.
Earlier today, Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man called for a fair investigation into the allegedly seditious remarks made by Muhyiddin, who is also Perikatan Nasional chairman.
This came after Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah expressed anger and deep regret over Muhyiddin's actions.
