Shanghai-bound Malaysia Airlines flight forced to turn back

KUALA LUMPUR: A Shanghai-bound Malaysia Airlines flight was forced to turn back to KLIA Terminal 1 shortly after taking off on Tuesday night.

FlightRadar indicated that Malaysia Airlines flight MH386 declared a general emergency soon after take off.

It turned back and landed safely at KLIA after around 70 minutes in the air, Astro Awani reported.

According to the report, the Airbus A330-300 descended to 3,048m, indicating a possible cabin pressure problem.

The New Straits Times has reached out to Malaysia Airlines for comment.

Earlier this month, the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia confirmed receiving a report on a Jeddah-bound Malaysia Airlines flight making a turnback two hours after departing from KLIA.
