DUNGUN: Health Minister Datuk Seri Dzulkefly Ahmad says he will raise a proposal for an increase in doctors' on-call allowance with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
"I strongly support the increase and will certainly submit this recommendation to the prime minister for his consideration," he said when contacted.
"We are grateful to the prime minister for the recent salary increase for all civil servants and we will also bring this demand to him," he said.
Previously, Hartal Doktor Kontrak, a group representing doctors, urged the government to review the on-call allowance which has not changed for over a decade.
The group said this was needed despite the recent salary adjustment for civil servants due to inflationary pressures.
