ALOR STAR: The master plan for Greater Kedah is expected to be unveiled next month, says the menteri besar.
Datuk Seri Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said a committee is now working on the blueprint.
"It is preparing the first draft. We expect to unveil it by the end of September.
"The blueprint will incorporate Kedah Development Plan 2035 (Kedah2025), State Executive Council Strategic Plan 2024-2048 and the State Structural Plan."
Greater Kedah is a long-term vision covering all aspects of the state's interests, including the economy, governance, natural resources, the legislature and judiciary, Sanusi told the state legislative assembly today.
He was responding to a question from Azhar Ibrahim (Perikatan Nasional-Ayer Hitam).
Sanusi added that Greater Kedah bears no resemblance to developments in other states.
"Greater Kedah requires the cooperation of the federal government and other states but will not touch on sensitive interests."
Sanusi is confident the federal government will not object to the idea.
"In achieving our goal of becoming a greater state, we are always open-minded. We will work with the federal government or other states to facilitate the process."
