[UPDATED] PM Anwar arrives in Brunei for two-day visit [WATCH]

BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has arrived here for a two-day working visit as part of the 25th Malaysia-Brunei Darussalam Annual Leaders' Consultation (ALC).

On hand to welcome him at the Brunei International Airport was the High Commission of Malaysia to Brunei Charge D'Affaires Nur Ezira Mahadi.

Brunei's Minister at the Prime Minister's Office and the Minister of Finance and Economy II Dato Seri Setia Dr Awang Haji Mohd Amin Liew Abdullah, and Minister of Foreign Affairs II Dato Seri Setia Awang Haji Erywan Pehin Dato Pekerma Jaya Haji Mohd Yusof were present.

Accompanying Anwar on the visit are Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan, Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor, International Trade and Industry Minister Senator Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz, Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abd Kadir, and Education Minister Fadhlina Sidek, among others.

Also present were Deputy Sarawak Premier Datuk Seri Laila Jasa Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, Deputy Transport Minister Datuk Hasbi Habibollah, Deputy Youth and Sports Minister Adam Adli Abd Halim, Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister's Department (Religious Affairs) Dr Zulkifli Hasan, and other senior government officials.

The entourage proceeded to The Empire Hotel for a pre-council meeting with other delegates.

Tomorrow, Anwar will depart for Istana Nurul Iman to have a private audience with Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah to review the progress of bilateral cooperation and witness the signing of several bilateral agreements.

A press conference at the airport is expected before he departs for Kuala Lumpur.
