Fake news of PM's alleged Palestinian son-in-law being circulated

KUALA LUMPUR: It has been brought to our attention that a screengrab of the New Straits Times website, featuring a couple at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport, is being circulated.

The image of the couple is being passed off as that of the prime minister's daughter and his alleged Palestinian son-in-law.

The screengrab is actually that of a Malaysian, Nurul Ain Haron, and her Palestinian husband Mohamed A.M. Shaat.

The picture was taken upon their arrival at KLIA Terminal 1 on Nov 14 last year after they were evacuated from Gaza.

The emotional reunion with her family members was reported by the NST on Nov 14, 2023.

The NST would like to inform our readers that the picture has nothing to do with the recent arrival of injured Palestinian civilians who were flown here on board two Royal Malaysian Air Force aircraft for treatment on the government's initiative.

The couple is also in no way related to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
