PM, netizens wish Paralympians the best

KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has called on Malaysians to rally behind the national Paralympic team as they prepare for the upcoming games in Paris.

In a post on his social media platforms, Anwar conveyed his best wishes to the Malaysian athletes, along with their photos.

"Now is the time for us to show our support for the Malaysian Paralympic contingent.

"Best of luck to all our athletes. The prayers and support of the entire nation are with you as you compete in Paris!"

In the comment section on Anwar's Facebook page, Siti Noraini Mahabob wished the contingent success, and said: "Malaysia boleh!"

Another netizen Harun Mohammed said: "Best of luck! InsyaAllah (God willing), they can all do it."

A total of 17 athletes and 17 officials departed for Paris from KLIA Terminal 1 on Aug 23.

Malaysia is fielding 30 athletes across eight sports in the Paralympics scheduled from Aug 28 to Sept 8.
