TAWAU: The body of Leading Seaman I Arman San Hermansa, 28, who died during salvage operations at the KD Pendekar wreck site, arrived in Tawau Airport today.

The remains were flown from Senai Airport in Johor aboard a Royal Malaysian Air Force C130 Hercules transport aircraft, arriving with the deceased's wife and child at 7.06pm.

Present to receive the body were the Maritime Region 2 commander Rear Admiral Datuk Khir Junaidi Idris, as well as Royal Malaysian Navy officers and other ranks from the naval bases in Tawau and Sandakan.

Arman San's remains were accorded full military honours in a ceremony conducted by nine RMN personnel.

The body was then transported in a hearse to his hometown in Lahad Datu and is expected to be buried at the Kampung Terusan Islamic Cemetery later tonight.
