ALOR STAR: The number of flood victims in Kedah has dropped to 7,250 individuals from 2,417 families, currently sheltered in 35 temporary relief centres (PPS) across four districts as of 4pm today.
This follows the closure of a PPS in Bandar Baharu district, where 119 people from 26 families were allowed to return home as floodwaters continue to recede.
According to the Social Welfare Department's Disaster Information mobile application, the current count has decreased from the 7,674 individuals from 2,478 families reported at noon.
Kota Setar recorded a notable reduction, with 4,984 people from 1,713 families remaining in 19 PPS, down from 5,235 individuals from 1,727 families at noon.
In Pokok Sena, the number of victims has dropped to 83 from 37 families, compared to 95 people from 41 families previously.
Kubang Pasu has also seen a decrease, with 579 victims from 179 families, down from 621 victims from 196 families.
In Pendang, 1,604 victims from 488 families remain in PPS, unchanged since midday.
Meanwhile, the Public Infobanjir portal shows that as of 4pm, only Sungai Anak Bukit in Kota Setar remains above the danger level.
