Tok Mat to advocate for Gaza peace and two-state solution at UN meeting in New York

PUTRAJAYA: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan will participate in a crucial ministerial meeting on the situation in Gaza and the implementation of the two-state solution on Thursday (Sept 26) in New York, United States.

The Foreign Ministry in a statement today said that Mohamad would deliver Malaysia's National Statement expressing support for measures and proposals to advance all related peace efforts in the context of recognising the Palestinian State in accordance with pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The ministerial meeting on "The Situation in Gaza and the Implementation of the Two-State Solution as a Path and Comprehensive Peace" will bring together members of the United Nations (UN), the UN secretary-general, representatives of relevant UN agencies, as well as members of international and regional organisations.

"Malaysia's participation in the meeting is part of its commitment and efforts in support of the Palestinian cause," said the ministry, also known as Wisma Putra. — BERNAMA
