GISB song promotes deviant teachings, warns Kelantan deputy mufti

TUMPAT: Deputy Kelantan Mufti Datuk Nik Abdul Kadir Nik Mohamad has advised the public not to be influenced by the lyrics of a song by Global Ikhwan Services and Business Holdings Sdn Bhd (GISB), which is claimed to promote deviant teachings.

He stated that such actions were contrary to Islam and urged that the act of singing the song, which has gone viral on social media, be stopped immediately.

"The lyrics of this song are like a form of zikr as it was present when the founder of the Al-Arqam organisation, Asaari Muhammad, was still alive, and now the parody of the song has resurfaced on social media.

"Therefore, I advise that it be stopped immediately as it can mislead one's faith," he said after officiating the MBOR Declaration and Award Ceremony for the Writing of 3 Million 'Kalimah Allah' at SMU(A) Bustanus Saadah, Morak, here today (Sept 30).

Recently, social media has been flooded with parodies of songs praising Abuya (Asaari as the founder of Al-Arqam).

On Sept 27, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the government was committed to ensuring that the police conduct a transparent investigation into GISB.

Earlier this month, police launched a large-scale operation on welfare homes run by GISBH in Selangor and Negri Sembilan.

The raid resulted in 402 children, aged between 1 and 17, being rescued from allegations of exploitation and abuse.

Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Razarudin Husain reportedly stated that the victims experienced various forms of exploitation and abuse, including being sodomised.

GISB has denied the allegations of child exploitation and abuse at its shelters.
