Suspects are cold blooded, says slain Felcra retiree's wife

BALING: Subhiah Roslina Shahibi the wife of slain Felcra financial officer retiree described the prime suspects in her husband's murder as cold blooded.

Subhiah, 57, said she could not believe that the suspects could do such henious crime against her husband.

"How could they do to my husband. They are just like children to my husband. But because of money, the have lost their mind and went killing my husband. They are cold blooded," she said when contacted today.

She added that, despite their belief in their own cleverness, the suspects were ultimately caught by the police.

Subhiah said she prayed that Sabari's body would be recovered although admitting the chances are slim given that the river current is strong and the area was flooded recently.

"I hope that his body will be recovered, even just his clothes although the chances are slim because the river current is strong, plus the area was ravaged by recent floods," she said when contacted while travelling back from Kuala Lumpur.

Subhiah said her world crumbled after learning about her husband's fate from a family's WhatsApp group about 2pm yesterday.

The news was a devastating end for the family's anxious wait since the 62-year-old Sabari went missing on Sept 4.

"At least, we finally knew what happened to my husband after 26 days of anxious waiting.

"We are now hoping for his body to be recovered to have a proper closure," she said.

Yesterday, police reclassified Sabari's missing persons case as a murder investigation after arresting two men suspected of his abduction.

Kedah police chief Datuk Fisol Salleh said that the suspects, aged 26 and 38, admitted to murdering the victim by throwing him into the river with his hands bound and mouth taped.

On Sept 24, Fisol confirmed the detention of a 62-year-old woman to assist in the investigation into Sabari's disappearance.

A father of three, Sabari was reported missing on Sept 3 after leaving his home in Kampung Mengkuang Tengah, Kuala Pegang, Baling, in a Proton Waja.

His car was later found burned in Belantik, Sik, with no trace of him since.
