KOTA BARU: Kelantan hotels still allow guests to check-in between 2pm and 3pm.
The Kelantan Malaysian Association of Hotels (MAH) said all 19 of its members in the state have yet to raise check-in times to 4pm.
"Guests are allowed to check-out at 12pm," said Kelantan MAH honorary secretary Muhammad Azrin Zainal Abidin said.
He said the set check-in and check-out times were to ensure rooms were ready for the next guest.
Last week, many Malaysians took to social media to complain about hotels that set check-in times at 4pm and check-out times at 11am.
Subsequently, MAH president Datin Christina Toh said factors including peak seasons, large group bookings and staffing issues led to hotels adjusting check-in and check-out times.
Tourism, Arts and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing has said he will meet hotel industry players on the issue.
