Neighbour claims UiTM Dungun crash suspect 'never bothered anyone'

KUALA LUMPUR: A neighbour of the suspect involved in the tragic death of three Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) students last Wednesday said the suspect had never caused problems as claimed by some netizens.

"I was shocked because the suspect and her family are good people," said the neighbour, who wanted to be identified as Nora.

"After decades of living next to them, the family has caused no trouble, and she is a caring woman who has never harmed anyone in the neighbourhood," Nora was quoted in an interview with Sinar Ahad.

However, she said that the woman had experienced significant emotional distress after losing a child during pregnancy ten years ago.

"She suffered after that loss but never bothered or harmed anyone else. What happened is truly shocking because I know she would never hurt anyone."

Nora noted that the woman usually left home accompanied by her husband and children. "I urge the public not to make any speculations or false claims about this incident since they do not know what truly happened," she said.

Yesterday, police revealed investigations into the woman arrested for the fatal crash are being conducted according to standard procedures, despite claims of her having mental health issues.

Earlier, Terengganu Health Department director Datuk Dr Kasemani Embong told a Malay daily that there was no record of mental health treatment for the woman involved in the accident on Wednesday.
