KUALA LUMPUR: Over RM250 million has been allocated for slope repairs nationwide, announced Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today.
"Recently, there have been frequent incidents of land subsidence and landslides. This includes a tragic event involving an Indian national in Jalan Masjid India, Kuala Lumpur.
"To prevent these incidents from recurring, several projects will be implemented, including over RM250 million for slope repairs nationwide," said Anwar during the tabling of Budget 2025.
In addition, RM21 million has been allocated to address land subsidence issues in Kerian Laut, Perak, Kedah, and Perlis, while RM10 million for a geotechnical study of soil layers on major roads around the Golden Triangle of Kuala Lumpur, Anwar said.
