Dengkil secondary school gets new hall, thanks to alumni Abdul Hamid PV Abdu

CYBERJAYA: Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Dengkil, located nearby, has received a new hall thanks to the contribution from Ehsan Plant and Property Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Datuk Abdul Hamid PV Abdu.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the hall last week, Abdul Hamid, a former student of the school from 1982 to 1987, expressed hope that his contribution would encourage more alumni and corporate entities to support schools in need across the country.

Abdul Hamid added that he was inspired to initiate the hall's construction following an alumni reunion in 2018.

"This initiative stems from my wish to give back to the school that played a crucial role in shaping my life and success.

"This contribution is my token of appreciation to SMK Dengkil and the dedicated educators who laid the foundation for my achievements.

"With a well-developed facility like this, we hope it will have a positive impact not only on students but the entire school community," he said.

Present during the ceremony were officials from the Sepang District Education Office, members of the Parent-Teacher Association (PTA), Ehsan Plant and Property staff, as well as SMK Dengkil teachers and students.

"We warmly welcome the efforts made by Datuk Abdul Hamid PV. This is an exemplary act, one that other alumni can aspire to emulate," the school's principal Norliza Mohd Noah said.

Completed in April last year, the hall can accommodate up to 300 people at once and was designed as a central space for student sports and co-curricular activities.

The company, in a statement, said the construction of the hall reflected its ongoing efforts to inspire alumni and corporations nationwide.

"This hall symbolises our shared commitment to education. We hope this contribution has a lasting impact on both educators and students here."
