No basis to probe me for corruption, says GRS assemblyman

KOTA KINABALU: A Gabungan Rakyat Sabah assemblyman has denied any claims of wrongdoing following the release of a video of him purportedly discussing a mining project with another person.

"I do not think there was any element of corruption in that meeting. There is no reason for me to be investigated," Kemabong assemblyman Datuk Rubin Balang told the New Straits Times.

He said however that if the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission summoned him, he would cooperate with the graft busters.

Previously, Malaysiakini released a video from a whistleblower allegedly showing Rubin in negotiations over a mining project.
